Carter Donates $10,000 To Habitat For Humanity
Carter Lumber celebrates 70 years of business by donating lumber and building materials to Habitat For Humanity of Summit County, Ohio. The donation, valued at approximately $10,000, was presented to Habitat on May 10, 2002 at a community groundbreaking ceremony.
“For 70 years, Carter Lumber has been committed to strengthening the Akron community,†stated Neil Sackett, president of Carter Lumber. “One of the founding principles of our company is helping families build their dream homes. We are proud to partner with Habitat to assist with area housing needs.â€
Carter Lumber’s commitment doesn’t end with the 100th house. They will also be sponsoring The Carter Lumber 70th Anniversary House later this summer where Carter Lumber volunteers will be donating time, talent and resources to help build the house on Madison Avenue.
“We wanted to do something special this year in celebration of our 70 years in Akron,†remarked David McCafferty, vice president of marketing. “We've had a longstanding relationship with the local Habitat for the last sixteen years, so it only made sense to build on that foundation and strengthen our involvement this year with Habitat's 100th home and a designated 70th Anniversary Carter Lumber home.â€
