Carter Lumber Moves To Larger Muncie Location
Carter Lumber is now bigger and better than ever in Muncie, Indiana. The hometown lumberyard has moved to a larger location, at 4900 N. Old State Rt. 3. This new facility houses a vastly expanded showroom and has combined its lumber store and plumbing, electric and heating store under one roof.
In addition to Carter Lumber’s increased retail showroom space, the new nine-acre lumberyard features five warehouse buildings and a lumberyard that is stocked with a complete line of lumber and building materials. A separate contractor sales area within the showroom has been established to service the needs of local contractors. The showroom features a building project center complete with materials for all types of construction. Customers can choose from standard package designs or let Carter Lumber produce a custom design based on a customer’s specific needs. This new location also showcases a kitchen design center.
The lumber and building professionals who staff this location will provide contractors and DIYers with the service that Carter Lumber customers have come to expect. “We continue to operate under the hometown values established by our founder W.E. Carter more than 70 years ago,†David McCafferty, vice president of marketing for Carter Lumber said. “At this, our newest location, contractor and retail customers will continue to find those values upheld.â€
Carter Lumber also hired a new manager with strong building materials experience to run this new store. He is Monte Gaddis, who was the assistant manager at this site when it was a Furrows store. “Returning to manage this store is a great opportunity and I believe that customers will see that we are dedicated to providing them with exceptional service that they have come to expect from Carter Lumber,†said Gaddis.
This newest Carter Lumber store has 17,500 square feet of retail showroom space, plus 85,000 square feet of warehousing and lumberyard. As with all Carter Lumber locations, the Muncie facility will offer top-quality grade-stamped lumber, roofing, siding, windows and doors, insulation, plumbing, heating and electric products from leading manufacturers.
