Carter Lumber Awards $6,000 In Scholarships To High School Seniors
Carter Lumber has continued its newest commitment to higher education and the local communities that they are located in by awarding three 2006 W.E. Carter Scholarships in conjunction with the Future Farmers of America (FFA). The scholarships have been awarded to deserving high school seniors from around the Midwest. Three scholarships, each worth $2,000, will be presented to students from Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
Walter Baily - Indiana
- Senior at Tecumseh Jr./Sr. High School in Lynnville, IN
- Member of the Tecumseh FFA chapter
- Plans to attend Purdue University
Janda Vest - Ohio
- Senior at Miami Trace High School in Washington Court House, Ohio
- Member of the Miami Trace FFA chapter
- Plans on attending Cleveland State University
Amanda Sollman - Michigan
- Senior at Sanilac Career Center in Peck, Michigan
- Member of the Sanilac FFA chapter
- Plans on attending Michigan State University
These three deserving students were selected from nearly 600 applicants and are being rewarded for their diligence in the classroom and dedicated service to their community and FFA. Carter Lumber applauds their efforts and wishes them the best of luck in their future educational and career aspirations. This is the fifth consecutive year that Carter Lumber will team up with FFA to award the W.E. Carter Scholarship.
