Deck Sealant & Stain: The Best Defense

Even brand-new wood can quickly become gray and dirty from exposure to sun, dirt and rain. Regular deck maintenance with deck sealant and stain is your best insurance for protecting your deck.

Take the time to clean existing wood surfaces to prolong its life and enhance the natural beauty of the wood. Many wood cleaning products are available. The force of water from power washers in combination with a cleaner can virtually eliminate any deck scrubbing to remove dirt and most old finishes. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any loose debris before deck sealant, stain products or any other covering is applied to the wood. You should allow at least three days of good drying weather between cleaning and sealing the deck.
