December 2024 Kitchen of the Month

Kitchen Of The Month
Bowling Green, KY
Kight Kitchen & Design

OBJECTIVE
The customer wanted to have a custom home with a variety of colors, wood species, and style. Each room in the home has its own unique feel by changing up the standard kitchen designs. Custom colors and large one-piece units, with inset doors to eliminate as many seems as possible. Some units were built as tall as 12 feet with multifunction sections that can't be done with other lines of cabinets. The unique construction and inset door layout give this home a very clean look with an element of detailed craftsmanship. This home won every award at the 2024 Parade of Homes including the Best Kitchen Design.
Embellish Home was the interior design firm that provided the inspirational designs for us to take to fruition. Embellish Home was an integral part of the process as they were in constant contact with our designer to ensure that their project was completed according to their designs, and any changes went through them.
A huge thank you to Emily Rose of Emily Rose Photography for the professional photos provided to us for the purpose of promoting the design work.
FEATURES
A great use of different wood species and finishes in the same areas to compliment the design features. Tall 10' and 12' cabinets that emphasize the dramatic high ceilings. Double sided island with waterfall quartz to add more counter surface behind the sink to have more room to sit. A second island as a table custom made to the customer's specs in the same complimentary white oak as the other items in the kitchen. Very large laundry room with a desk and built-in laundry appliances. Pantry has several tall shelves up to 10', and the other side has lots of drawers and wall cabinets for storage. The coffee bar is equipped with a double drawer refrigerator and undercounter ice maker with matching cabinet doors in a custom green painted finish. Floating shelves and glass doors set this area off very nicely. The fireplace is flanked with two very large bookshelves on each side that go to the ceiling with some unique library lights attached to matching panels at the top. Lots of drawer storage below for blankets and pillows for those chilly evenings. The oversized den entertainment unit has to be seen in person to appreciate the beauty and style. Done in a custom blue paint finish and complimented with a rich stain bookcase unit and wood top are a match made in heaven. With the light sconces flanking both sides of the TV gives it its place of honor in the center of this massive marvel. The furniture vanities in the master bath in their soft white paint add that spa like feel. And the reeded vanity upstairs gives a nice warm feeling.
