OBJECTIVE

"Classic, timeless, great attention to detail." These were the comments from the HBA judges who chose this kitchen as the 2024 Cincinnati Homearama award-winning kitchen. It is always a bit challenging to design a kitchen in a show home when the home is sold. You have to balance the need to feature new design ideas but meet the tastes and needs that the homeowner brings to you. This homeowner was looking for an open floorplan that would meet their love of entertaining but also wanted to maintain a traditional feel with an understated color scheme. We chose the inset shaker door style in classic white paint for the perimeter. We freshened that up with the on-trend Biscotti stain on the Yorktowne island which complemented the white oak floors and touches of gold used throughout the space. The hood aligns with the coffered ceiling and centers on the fireplace in the great room so that the island pendants frame the hood perfectly.

FEATURES

Since they are a family of avid cooks, professional appliances were a must. The Sub Zero refrigerators, Wolf ovens and coffee machine are integrated seamlessly into the cabinetry with flush-installed ovens and front panels on the refrigerator and dishwasher. The 1 1/2" thick walk-through pantry door with heavy-duty Soss hinges is detailed to match the front panel on the Sub Zero refrigerator sitting beside it. Truly a custom touch to this cook's kitchen!
